DESSA Screener for Externalizing and Internalizing Risks (SEIR)
This course trains educators, staff, and administrators to effectively implement the DESSA Screener for Externalizing and Internalizing Risk (SEIR). Completed alongside the Student Self-Report (SSR) for a risk and resilience approach, this student-completed screener identifies a broad range of social and emotional risks. You will learn how to support students in completing this portion of the SSR, interpret individual and group-level data, and understand the general guidance for using SEIR data. This course is outlines how to integrate findings into a proactive, preventive, and universal approach to identifying and mitigating student wellbeing and behavioral concerns by leveraging DESSA data to inform tiered instruction and interventions.
